It's difficult, if you think about it, to not be ambivalent about the attack on Iraq. Especially when you read stories like these.

On the one hand you have the apparent dishonesty of the Bush administration, charging full on into a war nobody really wanted but him and his cronies. And on the other hand you have the absolutely brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein and the rest of his maniacal family.

I hope with all my heart that the Iraqi people will be able to find a way to overcome their religious and racial prejudices and form a government that looks after all Iraqis, Sunni, Shiites, Christians, and Kurds.

Then again, there's no shortage of maniacal despots in the world. Why'd we pick Iraq? Hmmm?
